pitches

Well yes and no, yes cos this is kinda a forum hence the discussion and no i dont really care if they had 40 pitches. Jeez ghost your not really trying to get me to argue with you over this one are ya?

yeah lad , its a forum , i agree . my point was , theyre selling everything off from under us , everything . so to actually have something that actually states that we are a big time football club , is something to be cherished . also , as an aside , i think they rotate them as well , in the winter . nice one . lcab (y)

I know its worrying that the club has sold off most of its assets already and are soon to sell goodison to take up a lease (not that im against the move). But isnt the academy on a lease too? I mean, we dont techically own it do we? Or am I wrong on that one?

I hate to be the bearer of bad tidings but our training ground isn't ours either. We sold it recently and are leasing it back.

We also registered a profit of £0.2m (2005: £2.8m) on the disposal of tangible fixed assets after agreeing the sale (and leaseback) of the Megastore, Netherton and Finch Farm sites during the year,

10 pitches..

3-4 to use for the youth teams for practise and to play their competitive games on.

1 for the reserveteam to play on
1 for the first team to play on

and the other pitches will be rotated on due to the wear on the grass and so on... so one pitch won't become too awful to use.

as above, some pitches due to weather and wear will cut up and need a rest.

at the same time, everton might invite other sides along to learn 'the everton way' at the new facility, so its better to have too many than too few.

Well the Ultras weren't formed then so I presume it wasn't Chico. I suspect you could find out from land registry who owns Finch Farm but I can't find any information on the web, other than it was sold and leased back. It may well be owned by a financial/property related company.

I believe that JJB were mentioned around the time of the Megastore, although that may just have been to do with managing it.

i would have thought that the compeny would have had a bit of advertising on/in or around them though!!!

sorry but im a bit thick when it comes to this stuff!

but its a pr dream surely!!

I'm not sure these kind of deals really work like that. Think of it like a mortgage, you don't often hear much about the finance company underwriting the deal. I suspect it will be much the same with this.

cool mate cheers(y)

if it was me and i owned them and thought that they would be put on tv/net loads i would want an ad put up saying i was involved in the brand everton!!!

pr is pr surly

If you think about it from the clubs point of view though it would do little for our reputation to have faceless bank plc owning one of our prized assets. Despite the relative financial merit of the issue fans, both ours and others, would no doubt make hay about us being anything but the Bank of England of old. So with that in mind I'm sure the club, and indeed the finance company, would be discreet about things.
