The AJ/Cahill conundrum

The one thing that worries me is keeping those 'options' happy- AJ, Baines and Fernandes are not going to be happy sitting on the bench and Vaughan and Vic are getting to that age where they just want to play 1st team football. just hope the guts of our squad arent ripped out during the summer because half of them sign for Newcastle in the search for 1st team football.

Correct Mick, I was surprised that Vic came on yesterday and not James, its not as though they take it in turns. One thing in their favour is the fact that Faddy has gone they both moved up one in the same queue:dodgy:

Im for the 4-5-1 i think the days of this being a spoiling tactic are well gone. Some of the neat intricate passing between, Cahill, Osman, Pienarr and Yakubu was outstanding and certainly effective!

Johnson was hugely effective as a sub after Campbell and Distan had been tenderised by the Yak. The thing the Yak doesnt get enough credit for is his football intellegince/ability/vision/anticipation and ability to pull of tremendous passes and movements are spectaclour! I always knew he was a great goal scorer but his all round play is a joy to watch.

Aj for me is the perfect impact Sub when legs are begining to wain and his pase case be most effective.

For me AJ's days are numbered anyway because i think Vaughan will surpass him in the next two seasons, id keep him untill then and then sell him to West Ham for 15 mill. Cue also Jose Baxter!

While players may get a bit ticked for not playing as much as they should, keep in mind that they tend to complain about it a whole lot less when playing for a winning outfit like Everton.

I'm not too worried about player discontent.

Well we will be in Europe next year (knock on wood) and if we again make decent cup runs we will have like 60 matches/year and there will be time for everyone.

That being said, I loved the idea bringing in AJ in the 66th minute. Portsmouth were gassed and AJ's energy was too much for them.
