The prosecution has entered into a GUILTY claim, now is the time for evidence
The defence has not entered a plea and will therefore have no chance to contest the claims
As a steward at Old Trafford for the past 4 years, and a steward at Wigan for the past 3, i can't say i know of any choreographed movement during the game at any stadia. I can't even think of any reason why you would have noticed it. I suspect you aren't actually talking about the stewards, and perhaps you are talking about the outside security team 'CES' (Controlled event solutions).
At each stadium, you have safety stewards who operate inside the stadium, away from the pitch. Crowd / General stewards who are supposed to stand with their backs to the game, facing the crowd to spot any infringements, potential hazards or trouble makers (though the majority stand there watching the game). And you also have an outside security team, charged with searching fans entering the ground and throwing out any persistant trouble makers. These are usually ex-forces or part time doormen. Either way, stewards wear bright orange jackets and CES wear bright yellow.
I suspect its the security team that you have spotted moving up and down the stadium, this may be part of some tactic they employ when they are understaffed, to ensure all areas of the crowd are covered. Thats just a guess though, i could be wrong.
Having worked at United for a number of years, they used to have it on the away end at Old Trafford too, particularly for European games. Did the same at Chelsea too, not sure if they still do.
Stops rowdy away support lobbing things back too, two birds and all that.
Mate, get on Sky Go and watch that game back yesterday. First half it was being belted out by what sounded like the full ground. More than 50, more than a few hundred and probably more than a few thousand. Having worked on the Stretford End for 8 years "NX Gate" I know the difference between a few idiots singing offensive songs and half the ground.
I appreciate you want to defend your own and that is fine, I'm not pointing the finger at you. I'm more concerned that this is allowed to continue year upon year at old Trafford, Anfield, Goodison and elsewhere and not a single thing is done to stop it.
Worked on the Stretford End for 7 years mate. All the ST holders couldn’t stand him going back to when he sprinted up the touchline with Porto. Used to sing ‘F off Mourinho” regularly. They only tolerated him because he guarenteed success and they really yearned for it after Moyes and LVG.
Its not far off double the money at United though. Goodison is £28 a game i believe, or it was when i worked there in 08, its £26 at Wigan, and £47 at United. With the Prem, Carling Cup, FA Cup, Champions League and the odd youth game. As well as working at Wigan, sometimes doing the Rugby League, its about £2000 extra a year i get from watching a couple of games of Football a week.
I'm an Evertonian steward who has worked at Man Utd for nearly 10 years (as well as St Helens RLFC and Wigan Latics and Warriors). That seemed to be a bit far fetched for some, mind.
Over 10 years in recruitment mate, happy to offer any guidance on career path, Putting together a CV and / or looking for your next role.
With regards health and safety, what are the qualifications you are going in for? NEBOSH?
Just to manage your expectations, recruitment agencies are notoriously sketchy. Stay positive, but keep working on other options because there’s every chance the agency route will lead to nothing - this is why I asked you are you applying via an agency or via a direct employer.
Having worked in recruitment for over 15 years and worked for agencies and used the service of agencies as a candidate and as a client, it’s possible (perhaps, likely) that the call was primarily to register you on their system on the chance they have something that suits you in future, rather than to put you forth for any particular role.
Truly impressive presentation for the prosecution. FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF
About 2-3 years ago i joined a forum of every (then) club in the Premier League as part of a weekly column i ran on another Everton forum that has since dissolved. It was basically just a scouting mission prior to the game, i'd go across (in peace of course) and ask them a few questions, how they felt their season was going ? Their prediction for the upcoming game, discuss their danger men and our danger men and any other questions relevant to the encounter. Then i'd return and write up a report, post a decent overview of their answers (usually finding the optimist, the pessimist, the one who hates our club, and the fence-sitter) including any injuries/suspensions they may have and what their fans felt was their best formation and how they might line up.
It was quite successful, it also built ties with other clubs and made the most out of the build-up before the match. I don't go on them any more, like i said, i only registered for the purpose of the report, went on twice a season and that was it.
Sadly, I never went to Liverpool City College to study journalism or worked for the Echo. I never went to university either and, as far as I can recall, I’ve never been in anything other than a temporary food coma after one too many poppadoms.
No, I studied journalism at sixth form and the best I managed was a somewhat regular blog on an old Football forum about 10 years ago called SoccerPulse.
