In order

Domestically:

United
Liverpool
Arsenal
Chelsea

Worldwide:

United
Chelsea
Liverpool
Arsenal

Chelsea being ahead of Liverpool worldwide is probably a bit controversial but their glory years occurred during the greatest period of growth the premier league has seen and various articles now suggest they are the second most popular club with international fans, in part due to huge support in Africa.

That said I wouldn't argue too much with someone who said Liverpool were the second biggest worldwide.

Man Utd.

Since the PL inception, they've won the league the most.

In terms of fanbase; I consider it

Man Utd
Liverpool
Arsenal
Chelsea / City

Do Spurs even get near anything? Newcastle winning a trophy does not mask the fact they've done sod all, fans only turn up when the times are good.

It's no accident that in the same week two clubs announce plans for 100k+ new stadia.

The entire league has stood in awe at the newest stadium to join the league rota and know it's time to up the game.

If either man utd or newcastle break ground on their big new plans before 2030 I'll be amazed. We're about to load 13,5k extra fans into our ground, with massively increased bespoke corporate hospitality almost city centre, and we'll have a naming rights deal. I wonder who is the first international music act at BMD.

It's only a jump of three places, but 52,888 means joining that league of clubs in that zone, 10k behind 2nd to 5th. 20k behind man utd.

Spurs had a bigger fanbase than Chelsea for 90% of their history, and more trophies.

I still come across a lot more Spurs fans in London than I do Chelsea but there is probably a generational bias to that. I think they are still the second biggest club in London in terms of local fans but worldwide (and maybe nationwide) it's no contest between the two.

Absolutely.

I've been literal to the title of the thread though.

Chelsea we're notoriously a thuggish club with low fanbase. I even recall them winning the title and them talking about the first title in God knows how long.

I banded them and City together because they've artificially grown. If Chelsea ground was 62,000 they'd have same issues and ridicule for me.
