Lads, this feels like we’re on the verge of a slippery slope here, comrade Jeffers started this place as a refuge from the bedwetters and the pish stained sheets of e sector, now we’re talking about branding and naming rights?

Starting to sound a bit like a European Super shelter to me. This is meant to be a refuge where all are welcome, not just an exclusive heaven for deviants and miscreants.

Just that we all happen to be deviants and miscreants is merely a coincidence however we must strive to be inclusive on all levels.

I'm sorry. But I'm just thinking about the big picture. We have to keep the custome... I mean shelterers in frazzles somehow.

An Incontinence pad branding hook up affords possibilities of a synergistic relationship with kleenex in the fifa virgin infested transfer thread. That would sort the poppers supply.

I will put this in a quote so nobody has to read the whole thing.

Without wanting to bring them in here they were supposed to be an attempt at creating a decentralized currency separate from the banking system and national bank backed fiat currencies.

The idea is that they were better because national backed currencies print more money and devalue the existing supply as they choose. Also transactions are to be published and processed in an "open" ledger that is viewable to all. In order to keep it decentralized the ledger infrastructure is operated via processing power donated from people's computers and servers via a process called mining in which the people behind that computing power are reimbursed with bitcoins or portions of bitcoins.

There is a finite amount of bitcoins available to be produced via "mining" and the amount of processing power required to produce one grows in scale so as to restrict the introduction of new supply and prevent devaluation like when the banks print more money.

The issues are nobody knows who created the technology it is built on, people dont actually use it as a currency, and because there is a finite supply it lends itself to speculation bubbles as people buy it hoping to sell it to more to the next fella down the line rather than actually using the currency to purchase something.

It is like if you exchanged 100 quid for US dollars hoping that in a week's time someone will pay you 120 quid for them. You don't intend to ever spend the dollars, you're just holding onto them in case someone else wants them for more than you paid.

Eventually they will have to run out of people buying and then the market will crash. They can't really be used for much in terms of buying things which is typically the main function of currency.

It’s a different world now Davey, I just long for the days pre ‘92 pages, where we were a niche thread and a box of heroes could go round a few times before we were stuck divvying up the eclairs.

As with any great thread comes great responsibility, now more than ever while the footy is scarse and the weasels are on the rise we must ensure the safety of the shelter at all costs.

So be it.
