The bomb shelter thread.

I only venture into the E sector (manager and transfer thread) 2-3 times a day at most. It's a fascinating, frightening, troubling, sad and somehow humorous place all at once.
I think people forget that it's a game . A game we may all love and adore; a game which can brings highs and lows; a game that can unify and cause upset.

But in the grand scheme of things it is irrelevant - look at yesterday with Eriksen. People were ranting and raving about the coverage - k'off, a man nearly died.

I love Everton and I want us to do well. I'm not sure about Nuno either. However, I'm not going to let it impact on my life one iota.

It brings lots of laughs to us in here, which is a positive, but I worry that some people actually do let football cause actual difficulties in their lives.

So very much this. Couldn't agree more. Used to be very fanatical myself about my football clubs. Certainly much more than I'm nowadays. Never let it influence my day to day live though.

As quite a few of you all might remember, I lost one of my best mates in a car accident, back in 2008,travelling back from.a Fortuna Sittard match.

That incident has without any doubt, not only changed my views on football, but definitely also on life itself.

Always been one of the more relaxed approach to life types, but after that, what I regard to one of my most difficult moments in life, I more than ever realised that it's just a game of football and it will never be more than that.

Still love my clubs, and still very passionate in supporting them. However, I learned the hard way, there's so much more to live, than people kicking a ball around for a club and a shirt you happen to love.

Spot on.

I`ve got a couple of old mates who were at Hillsborough, they used to go everywhere with the RS, home and away, all over Europe, but haven`t set foot in a ground since then. All they said, was that after that footy didn`t matter anymore at all.

What is Davek's opinion on NES? I can't be doing with him harping on forever if we get a manager with a fault. (Don't make me look for myself).
He thinks the Atari was the better system based on net sales one time in the month of February and there was a conspiracy from within Atari for self sabotage.

Like you said, @Dutch Toffee was spot on. Football should never matter when you compare it with the actual important things in life: family; health; security.

I've had a season ticket for donkeys years and travelled away with Everton frequently. It can frustrate you when we play poorly, but I never, ever take it home.

Look at us on here - we're on an Everton forum yet what percentage of our posts are football related? Getting on in life, being happy and friends is what counts.

It's as if people don't understand that losing is part of the game and that there are very very few winners each year. I don't know what's wrong with people these days, honestly I think a lot of fans go on like toddlers throwing a tantrum.

They need to embrace their floppyness and learn to laugh at it. No need for little blue pills here. Bask in the flop.
