This is very true.

A friend of the family is an ophthalmologist (eye surgeon)
What he doesn’t know about the human eye and optic nerves isn’t worth knowing and routinely performs intricate eye surgeries on his patients. Years of university and post grad work to get where he is today and quite well of for it as well.

His wife once went for a weekend away with the girls for a friends hen night and he set the kitchen on fire trying to cook oven chips and had to call the fire brigade.

Agree with this and there is also the issue of 'what you achieve'. It doesn't matter how many degrees you have if you don't do anything with your life.
