Mark Farren

Former Derry City forward Mark Farren died after a long battle with cancer, just 33 years of age. He was diagnosed with a brain tumour a few years ago and despite undergoing experimental treatment in mexico it wasnt to be. Fans from all around Ireland and Clubs help fund raise to pay for the treatment.

He was well liked and a goalscorer of some note, becoming Derry's all time record goalscorer in his last season playing.

The founder of soul group Earth, Wind & Fire, Maurice White, has died in the US, his family has said.

White, 74, died in his sleep in Los Angeles on Thursday morning. He suffered from Parkinson's Disease.
