I honestly thought he'd gone already. His career didn't last very long somehow. Why was that?
ive just heard a resume on his life on the radio and they commented that he couldn't do thatcher which really inhibited his career and he suffered from chronic stage fright, resorting to the bottle which often won. Good in his time but time moved on.
 

John Cairney was a familiar face on the tv in the sixties. He was a bit of a smoothie like Bill Simpson from Dr Finlays Casebook! Of all the Scots who tried to make the Rabbie Burns role their own he was the one who came closest, being dark like the Bard.
