I posted mine from my flat in Jersey last week & linked you in - going to be hell putting that lot back on the plane home as my 5 years is up -

How long do you have to live in Jersey before you can buy?


10 years

You can only buy a property in Jersey if your residential and employment status is 'Entitled' (you've lived in Jersey for a continuous period of at least 10 years and have not left for more than a total of 5 years) or 'Licensed' (you are an approved essential employee in the island).

Tax Haven mate, look at the price of a flat over there ..... I had a near miss - I met my mate's from school in a night club - just after they had put two fingers up to me the employment agency i told them about it - lucky escape -

They were working for a builders firm over in Jersey on a contact - finished the contract quickly got a bonus - summer was arriving they thought we will go on the dole get benefit & live it up they signed on asked to be at the dole office the next day - got flung in a van with overalls & were supervised to paint miles of school railings - they had to work for their unemployment benefit in the 1980s - they came home the next day lol
They were not impressed with the people at all......

Is the correct answer. It is not part of the U.K., it is a crown dependency, but it is part of the British Isles so is part of the common travel area……
