The EU deal

Michael Gove opposing Cameron now. I wonder if that gormless clown Johnson will have the balls to?
if he wants to go for the leadership he will have to, Rees Mogg was saying last week the Tory constituencies that hold the power in the leadership selection are firmly in the out camp, and wouldn't back anybody from the in side.
on a side note if we voted out the SNP have said they want to stay in, so its a double whammy get rid of the EU and the jocks, deffo out from me

If we leave the EU I'm declaring independence for Mercia

Anyone who seriously fancies a run at the leader of the party long term will essentially align with the Out campaign - you can afford to lose but it cozies you up to the grandees - and the country be damned!

Terrible stuff

A load of bluster about absolutely nothing other than an attempt by the tory party to seize the electoral moment to push through their right wing agenda and push Eurpoe back 50 years.

If there wasn't 22 miles of water between Britain and mainland Europe this wouldn't even be being discussed. Embarrassing for the vast majority of British people who want nothing to do with this nonsense.

Strange that they want out of one Union where they are a big player and go straight into another where they will be irrelevant.

Always been moderately eurosceptic and I'm still leaning towards voting to leave, but Cameron is annoyingly good at this kind of thing, so I think he'll get his way.

Not too arsed either way though - always seen the EU as bit of an irrelevant puppet show.

50 years ago large parts of Europe were ruled by a central government made up of an unelected politburo. Good to see we have moved on.

Well you're half right. Cameron certainly will make a quick trip down to hell to get the devil to shine the excrement known as the 'EU deal' and sell it to the public. However, the only puppet show is us, whilst we're in the EU.

You're off topic and spreading your agenda driven bigotted bollix. Again.

That's right. Completely disregard his post and go into full damage control because he's absolutely right and there's nothing you can say to argue against it. Oh, the beauty of the left wing. So vicious.

Migrants are the hottest topic across the whole EU. I'm purposely avoiding the fact so not to get the thread shut down but it is a fact nontheless. I'll not mention them again.

Shouldn't be letting a fascist comment like that stop you from talking about things related to the EU deal. He appears part of a very vocal minority that attempts to restrict the majority from talking about immigration because 'muh racism'.

There'll be a lot of jockeying for position between May and Johnson who are broadly anti-EU and will probably face Osborne for the leadership. Grassroots Tories seem to be heavily against staying in so you'd think it's be a no brainer that one of them will go for it. Gove might have ambitions for leader too, so maybe that will add impetus to it.

I feel the momentum is on the leave side from the polls, word of mouth and even question time audience. I'm quite optimistic that we could vote to leave. If they'll let us leave is another question.

There's no way the UK will be allowed to leave. Same as the Scottish referendum. There'll be an almighty campaign by the Establishment using every tom d1ck and Harry to support the Stay campaign. We've already had the Royal intervention, which will take its place alongside the captains of industry, much of the media, the military, the US will be sticking their beaks in alongside NATO. And if all that fails they'll start stuffing boxes full of fake votes in.
