We're not skint by virtue of the broadcasting revenues flooding into the Premiership.

However given the accumulated deficit from previous years and the lack of working capital the Board has to decide whether to invest in the playing squad or reduce debt.

The indications are that they're prepared to back the manager. However the situation would be so much easier if they, or someone else was allowed to provide the capital desperately required to keep up with bigger spending clubs.

The indications to me esk are that they are either

A) dragging there heels backing the manager or
B) willing to back the manager but he hasn't got a clue what or who he wants/needs.

I certainly don't think it currently looks like they are backing the manager by any stretch as personally it's just not acceptable that we are blatantly lacking in departments which are going to prove costly for the first 3-4 games.

Back him or sack him. Board are an embarrassment, pretty much like they have been for 25 years now because they certainly don't live up to the fans expectations and don't live up to the club motto.

Why bring in a manager who wants to completely change the style of football we play and not give him funds to build his own team? Its a lot like buying a 100k car and not being able to afford to run it.

Something does need to happen and soon. However don't see how flying a plane over Goodison will change anything bar maybe just maybe a news outlet of some sort wanting to do a story on it, the only way i can see anything changing is a mass protest/walkout and that unfortunately would be very very very hard to organize.

Maybe they just want a "yes" man. Worked for Moyes didn't it, very VERY well paid for little return so who knows if Martinez isn't the same. Has he got the balls to call out this joke of a board to back him with signings? I don't reckon so for the simple reason IMO he ain't ever getting a better job than this.

IMO this is as good as it gets for Martinez and he would never rock the boat and jeopardise his position.

What do I know though, zilch that's what. Sack the board, sack the manager? Ain't got a clue but I think something will change sooner rather than later.

3 points always makes everything seem a lot better doesn't it lol

Certainly seems like it.

I genuinely feel like 3 points wouldn't make me feel much better about the future of the club anymore mate. I feel its pretty much the same feeling with the lads i go the match with too.

Not just you with a few mates, I think a lot of us are feeling it too. Don't want to avoid the swear filter slyly but a few choice words could describe how a lot of fans are feeling currently.

Regardless what happens we will still all be here cone wind rain or shine supporting Everton.

This club seems to run by share holders who are happy to take money out but not put any back in they don't care about the club like the fans
how long is it now that EFC was supposedly up for sale yet no word nothing zero ziltch !! a club this size with a large fan base cannot attract a buyer ? bullsh!t

A inept chairman who says he does not know where the money is yet he thinks someone is going to invest and let him continue to run the show the mind boggles

personally i am past caring don't go the game anymore etc but i do feel sorry for the true punters who pay their hard earned money and don't see nothing for it other than mediocre treading water

This is a massive transfer window - one that could finally open the eyes of a lot of supporters.

Once the window is shut and our business (or lack of) is done, there could be a lot more fans wanting to publicly show their disdain for our chairman and our board.

The atmosphere on Saturday was a pressure cooker just waiting to blow - and it didn't take long for that to happen. As soon as the fans blow and vent off their frustration it has a negative effect on the team. Although this is not the intended result of the groans and boos, it is a very real reaction to the (justified) ill feeling around the club right now.

It's difficult to support the players and show lack of support for the board at the same time. It can easily make a team low on confidence perform even worse and certainly make the team look less attractive to potential new signings.

Unless the club manage to pull a blinder and sign at least a couple of quality players - they might/should have a very nasty situation on their hands.

If Stones is sold... that should be the straw that broke the camel's back (not Kone's camel though... we may need him yet....).

It's so depressing to have such a wealth of young talent in the squad yet no wealth in the old charlatans that run the club

Why are we booing the players? Every home game we should protest against the board.

...in the Premier League since 2003.

The only team with a lower net spent in the past 12 years currently in the Premier League are Swansea, Bournemouth, Southampton and Watford.

The only reason these teams have a lower net spend (average per season) than us is they have been in the league for less time.

Of the teams that have been in the Prem every year since 2003 the total spends in that time go:

Chelsea £936m
City £860m
Liverpool £685m
Man Utd £669m
Tottenham £520m
Arsenal £400m
Villa £288m
Everton £196m

Why are we so broke?

Because we have people, Elstone, in situ who do just enough to keep their job and we have those in power, the board, content that they are under no pressure and love the fact they are given the freebies they feel they are entitled to.

Meanwhile the club is stagnating and going nowhere.

Seem to remember having the same conversations on Kipper about 6 years ago!

If the club is not sold within the next 12 months then I am afraid that the next generation of everton supporters will be watching the club fall backwards year on year.

The new TV deal which kicks in next season is the last chance to attract a new buyer sadly this lot will remain unwanted squatters patching up holes around the ground for years to come.

Problem is the board is inept commercially and out of its depth financially( at least kenwright) compared to all other premiere league owners

Yes in the days of KEIOC and the Kirkby Shed, just shows how right we were then and nothing has changed except there is more money around.

Wouldnt put money on it being any different in six years time except to say I dont know what league we will be playing in.

and yet they refuse to hand over the club to new owners until they make as much money as possible from any sale. Everton Football Club has been turned into a zombie club by a parasitic host who pretends to be one of us while we stand by and watch the club weaken each day.

I guess we are "all in" and have to do something about it or we stand and watch it die a very slow death till it,s nothing more than a shell by name.
