Apologies that's not how I meant it to come across. I was trying to make the point that those of us that are not carrying pitch forks and burning a Kenwright effigy are frequently labelled on here as general idiots and brainwashed morons. When it is just as likely that many in the anti-Kenwright camp are blithley following a mob mentality.

That's fair. Although one mob happens to be right.

I dont know why certain commercial deals are not as good as others apparently are - but surely it's wrong to assume dodgy dealing is behind it all?!?

In the battle of incompetence v. conspiracies I tend to err on the side of incompetence.

The speculation as to what Kenwright's doing in terms of stealing from the club or that there's some grand cartel holed out in Monaco for 11 years cackling around a conference table saying they'll not sell until they get their £250m is ridiculous and to me at least defies all logic.

I do think he is reluctant to sell however I think it's likely more to do with not wanting to let go of his club than on wanting to cash in huge. The cash might play a part but I think it's mostly that he doesn't want to see the curtain go down (sorry) on his involvement in football and Everton. If I were buying EFC I'd offer to give BK a fancy title and a nice office and maybe a board of advisers he could chair -- he's have no actual power but I bet you'd have a far bigger chance of getting your offer accepted if he knew he would still be involved in some capacity.

Plus they did themselves no favours with their attitude toward fans at various times.

Just like King's Dock was a great missed opportunity (dead horse = beaten) I think the last decade or so was a huge missed opportunity too in terms of takeovers. The recession is a factor (although not as much as people think -- super-rich people make money almost any time -- many of them got even richer during the recession) but the bottle-neck at the top of the Prem is a much bigger issue. The amount of money some teams have spent to finish mid-table is insane. Unless you are going to throw around City/Chelsea money I don't see the point in buying a Prem team (unless you are a fan of said team). Why sink 200 million into a club to which you have no allegiance just to finish 8th?
