ok, lets debate. the mixed messages from the board over the years , have meant that a lot of supporters do not trust them. this is a fact. another fact was the kirkby debacle was the boards last chance to ease a sale. this is despite the fact that it was a poor location,read the laughingly named Transport policy. the stadium design was critisised by a source not associated with KEIOC, yet this fact is ignored by supporters of the scheme. so look at the picture so far;
kirkby was the last chance to sell
it was a poor location and design
the board had minimal investment in the scheme, yet profited from it.

this is just ONE thing that sticks in my throat about the board.the final nail in the coffin of their incompetance, and for all the mistakes they have made, FINALLY getting a catering contract that works, well, thats just not good enough for me.look at the previous caterers, kit suppliers, etc etc .
we may be no better of selling to MR A.N.Other, but can we really be that much worse off?

SPOT ON mate, this current board has stumbled from one cock up to another and i think its a case of if nothing changes soon then the next cock up could be the last for our great club!

OK, let's just say for the sake of argument that I accept most of what you say. Now what do we do? How do we change things?

I'm aware of the criticism and much of it I agree with. My question is so, what now?

the first thing is to get rid of the apathy amongst the supporters.
the second is to bombard the media with letters, emails etc saying we are not happy with the current situation.
third, put pressure on the board directly, again, letters, emails etc. some people have already refused to renew STs.

until the supporters actually DO something, we will be ignored. and stage managed forums will continue.
if there is anything else that would bring pressure on the board to sell/put their hands in their pockets, i would love to hear it.

i dont believe our situation is impossible to change, either the board put up, or employ someone, in full publicity, to sell the club. no more shadows.

I think the pro Kenwright big boys have shown a shocking disregard for fellow Evertonians in this thread with their blatantly offensive comments. Much like their Fuhrer, Bill, at AGM's.

now i have given you my standpoint, please explain yours.

The current board configuration is not ideal. We have a reluctant billionaire and a few millionaires. As such we have people who cannot invest in the way that we would like them to. In my view they have made mistakes (you've highlighted many of them) with some modest successes which I won't attempt to list as it clearly diverts discussion. The reality is that they have had to live within their means. The stats have shown that with one of the lowest debt in the prem for example they are performing well against other prem clubs which should be applauded.

But, for me its built on the sand of TV money and a too slow growth in our commercial activities.

They can't do a Leeds United. We all know what happened there, but this is what you want them to do.

In short, the board has experienced many failures of its own making, and some successes.

There is a credible argument to say that if the mass of supporters showed their approval the board would be forced to sell. Its just a shame it didn't work with Newcastle for a variety of reasons.

As supporters what we need to discuss what can we realistically do to encourage that change, how can supporters unite around common issues. When a credible buyer comes along I'll be with you encouraging the board to sell.

In the meantime, actions like the scarf campaign, without the liver bird is a good start to encourage those who are concerned, but not anti board to show that concern.

I would like the club to formally appoint Keith Harris (or someone else) as driver for bringing in investment or a sale. That person would be the first point of contact, not Bill Kenwright. I'd like that person to report on a quarterly basis to the fans. He doesn't have to give names etc, but can indicate how many contacts he's received and how far the contacts got.

In the meantime, the message about the board needing to change things or move on should be couched in more diplomatic language, not screaming hatred.

I also believe that we should discuss as fans a concordant with the new board / investors so that we can hold them to account on clear objective measures.

i can agree with much of that, however, the few successes have made no difference to our financial position, and unless we direct a lot of attention at the board, and media, nothing will change. we already have conflicting stories og people hired to sell the club. mush more transparency is needed, ergo, the media have to become involved.

This is a terrible advert for the club, as fans.

All talk, no action.

Good points, but the media won't sell the club for us and Bill's standing in the media is pretty good. Also, he has plenty of fans amongst our supporters so you're likely to present a picture of a divided supporter base as in the case of DK. The media aren't worried about Dk or KD. In all honesty, they work on news today, chip paper tomorrow. DK & kD are very old news, so are the "numerous failures of the board"
