Its always the fan's fault. They should be supporters not fans. Supporters inspire confidence in the players, fans are the ones who turn up hoping the club's performance makes up for the inadequacies in their personal lives and give them something to brag about. As soon as the players don't look as if they're going to be their crutch, like is their entitlement, they sigh and grumble and boo.

YES.

Bloody fans! Grrrrrrr!

Liverpool had had a bad start to the season,” Neville Southall explains in his autobiography The Binman Chronicles. “But even though we – as a team – knew we were as good as them, for the fans there was still a hoodoo. They were our nemesis.” The players believed, but Everton needed to win at Anfield to convince the fans.

The straw that broke the camels back was our behaviour last year. Then we hired Frank and sank straight into the bottom 3. The proper fans then came out and pulled us out of the mire. But I feel the aforementioned ones will eventually see us down.

My Dad's mates have had the same routine for years.

Meet at the pub still at death's door from the night before about 1400.

Nail a couple pintsand then taxi to the ground for right on kick off.

Then miss the first 10 mins drinking downstairs before loudly taking their seats and seemingly at random booing and cheering until 5 mins before half time where they depart back downstairs to reappear 10 mins late for the second half proclaiming that Everton are magic/disgrace depending on score and then leaving 5 mins before the end to beat the traffic.

On average they watch a good 15-20 mins of actual footy at any match.

Proper fans, them.

Exactly my thinking.

Season ticket holders the lot of them for over 30 years and with only the vaguest recollection of who's currently managing.

I only really go the match now to catch up with my mate, or we’d hardly see each other. If we went to actually enjoy the footy we’d have all given up a long time ago.
