If the loan fee is around the same as the amortisation on his fee and he's a good gamble on developing into a decent player with a good resale fee and/or be expected to improve the squad of either Roma or Everton then what is the problem?
If an asteroid hits us its a worrying sign, but I wouldn't lose sleep just on the off chance.
