Crazy Italians, reading through the comments it seems to be related to the manager sacking and she is now under Police protection after receiving threats against her and her family.

To be fair though, if you look at Dec 22 - June 23 here, we couldn't wait to get rid of our CEO to stabilize the club.

Sometimes these things are more nuanced then they seem from the outside.

It’s not that bad they finished 5th, 7th, 6th, 6th, 6th in the last few years and currently they have drawn three and lost one of their opening four games. They are just making changes because they expect better, would hardly call it a mess. Bloody hell would love a bit of action like that here right now.

Bologna finished top 4 last season. Atalanta in the CL again. These clubs have a fraction of Roma's budget so they aren't doing well.

The one success they had was the Conference League but like West Ham it wasn't a strong field. Fiorentina have made the last 2 finals and are nowhere in the league. Atalanta knocked out Liverpool and Leverkusen to win EL. It was only 5 or 6 years ago Roma were in a CL semi.

Precisely they expect better and are making adjustments.

Had a marginal preference for friedkin than textor but primarily because textor gobs off too much to the media - only a matter of time if he took over before he’d be getting into Twitter/instagram arguments with the fan base over some duff signings/pasting by a crap team.

Now it seems that friedkin isn’t exactly popular in Rome I might need to revise that view.

Roma are the 6th or 7th biggest club in Italy .
They should be finishing around the 5th or 8th positions.
They have not exceeded expectations in the league.
TFG are learning about the football business .
They should stick to Roma until they have mastered it .

Inter, Ac Milan and Juve are the big 3.

Roma would consider themselves bigger than the rest, or as big as and therefore would expect to be in CL more regularly.. Napoli and Atalanta have achieved more in last few years. Bologna in CL this year.

Roma haven't been in CL for 5 years but were in the CL the previous 5 years. The Conference League win puts a bit of a gloss on it.

Gasperini for me is one of the best managers in Europe, doing fantastic work. They have good budget now, because they play at European spot every year basically. Playing good football. He did what Emery did Villa. Bologna will be the question, was it a one season wonder like Burnley or they manage to confirm that.

I just have a problem with any club, if you back a manager in summer despite a bad form, which they had at the end of the season give him a long-term contract knowing that and then sack him after 4 games. You trust in a manager even though they won like 2 of 9 games in that period... That's something I struggle with.
