Yea, I'm not bothered about Z cars... let Watford have it.. I have no geographical link to the city, I've never seen the show, the only reason I've heard of it is because I support Everton, I wouldn't loose sleep if they ditched it.
Yeah for me the siren, now , followed by Z-cars is an integral part of my Everton experience. I swear when I’m standing there and I hear it even after half a century it I still get goosebumps, may it never change .

I’d certainly oppose any attempt to get rid of it and that’s nothing to do with a deep passion for a 1960’s tv series based in Kirkby

Nah the colour is great, Z cars is what it is, nothing special in my opinion. Like I said it's not something the crowd get behind, in my match going experience limited as it is seemed that z cars was widely ignored.

Of course, all we need to do is suspend reality for a few years.
People need to have faith in the importance of Everton and what we have to offer.

Just grabbing at the chance to be a piece of a commercial group with a lot of other interests is a bit pathetic.

It means a lot to the locals mate. People have it played at their funerals etc.

They getting rid of it once, and not long after the chairman was legged.

It depends on how much they take out. It's one thing to remove some cashflow at market rates, and another to loot the joint the way the Glazers did.

It looks like their objective is to turn the club into a functional going concern, which is more or less the opposite of the Glazers. It's not perfect, but it's an improvement.
I'll tell you what you'll see if this goes ahead: Everton will be forced down some route where the club will be looking sell players and to cobble a squad together by buying a lot of young players who can possibly do a job and keep our heads above water, while Roma will keep spending.

Our importance and what we have to offer have attracted Friedken and a few other bidders. That's as good as we'll get this time around.

Our debt and financial results keep others away.

On face value it's just a tv theme tune for some. However, it's actually a modified, more modern version of an old Liverpool sea shanty called Johnny Todd (LINK) which makes it more relevant to me somehow - especially as we move into the docklands.

There were people here in spades the other week saying we'd never avoid administration...now the shout is that we cant expect any better than to become part of a stable of clubs for some yank spivs to exploit.

I was reading the official announcement of when they took over AS Roma and there were immediate sweeping changes made to the club and i expect the exact same thing will happen to us. https://www.asroma.com/en/news/58433/the-friedkin-group-are-the-new-owners-of-as-roma

“We are delighted to join the AS Roma family,” said Dan Friedkin, CEO and Chairman of The Friedkin Group. “As one fan wrote recently, ‘Take our iconic club and make it one of the greatest names in world football’.
"We intend to do just that.

“Our commitment to Roma is total. We will be very present in Rome, a city that holds a special place in our hearts, as we embark on this exciting journey. We recognise we are entrusted with a team that is a vital part of the soul of Rome, and this is a responsibility that we find humbling and will always take very seriously.

“As business owners, we look to identify and back strong management teams and leadership. Guido Fienga has proven to be a great CEO of Roma, and together we have developed an ambitious and disciplined business plan.
"We will give him the support, guidance and means to deliver on this plan and, to help maintain focus over these crucial weeks ahead, it will be primarily his voice that will speak for AS Roma.

“Our shared vision for the club and the team is to favour a sustained, long-term investment approach rather than quick fixes of questionable durability.
“I’d also like to take a moment to thank Jim Pallotta and his partners for all they have done for the club. He and his team have been very helpful in preparing for a smooth transition and we wish him nothing but the best in the future.
“Finally, no comments would be complete without acknowledging the incredible strength, passion and loyalty of the fans and the Curva Sud. We will stand shoulder to shoulder with you as we develop this club and challenge for trophies in the future. We can’t wait to get to work and for our new season to start.”
Guido Fienga, AS Roma CEO, said: “This is an important day for AS Roma. It is a privilege for me to begin to work closely with Dan and Ryan. Their passion and commitment to the club is unquestioned as is their financial and commercial track record.
"I am deeply honoured to have been trusted to continue my work at Roma and begin to execute a business plan which, in the first year, will put in place the foundation stones to deliver strong, sustainable results on and off the pitch.”
Departing AS Roma President Jim Pallotta said: “I would like to wish Dan, Ryan and everyone at AS Roma - the players, the staff and the fans - only good luck for the future.
“Like every Roma fan in the world, I truly hope The Friedkin Group can build on what we have done over the last eight years, transforming Roma into a truly international club, and take AS Roma to the next level. This is an incredibly special football club and I leave with many unforgettable memories.”
