The...Full English / Cooked Breakfast thread

All of the above is good and I know this could leave me open to attack but I'm going to fully commit and say for me, it has to have hash browns or with the Mrs being Irish, potato bread.

I know a few Irish on here may jump to the defence of the humble Soda farl but let me just stop you in your tracks. They are rank.

Just a question to Degsy, we talking strictly home made here or we suggesting good ones around the city?

A proper breakfast starts after you've done 3 hours of manual work otherwise it just isn't cricket.

1) Orange Juice with bits in it
2) Porridge cooked overnight in an aga with warmed milk and a good sprinkling of salt. Honey to taste
3) Cooked breakfast of:

- 3 rashers of fatty bacon with rind on
- 2 PORK sausages
- Lots of black pudding
- Good heap of mushrooms
- 3 cold, peeled tomatoes from a tin
- 2 slices of fried bread
- scrambled egg with a good twist of black pepper
- healthy dollop of brown sauce
4) Gunfire tea or strong coffee
5) A minimum of 3 slices of white toast (warm not hot)
6) Marmalade or raspberry Jam and Patum Peperium for the gentleman in oneself
7) Belch and wipe mouth with back of hand

Inspired and reminded by the 'Crusts' thread I've decided to revive my Full English Thread from a couple of years back.

The Full English Breakfast or FEB.

So what's yours then...what must you have, what won't you have at any price, what are you not fussed about either way.

Sausages; Pork, Beef, other, none.
Bread; white, brown, other - toasted, raw, fried, no bread at all.
butter, marge, some sort of healthy gunk other, none.
Beans; whose? or none.
Bacon; of which stripe
Eggs; fried, boiled, poached, any other which way.
Other stuff.
none or all of the above.

On a personal note 1; Going from part of the title it would seem to follow that it will NOT contain a hash brown, no matter how much you think it should

last but most importantly...condiments; salt, pepper, white, black, other, mustards.

And the biggest question of all.

Brown or red...aye, that is the question.

On a personal note 2; As the whole concept of the F.E.B. is thought by some to be a tad unhealthy by definition...but not in moderation surely.
It makes no sense to put in 'Healthy' stuff to ease your mind, like wholemeal this or low fat that.
That isn't what it's about.

Mine; On 2 thick crusts of white bread ( of the type they don't seem to make anymore ) toasted dark dark brown, ( nearly black) with butter
Pork sausages, Black Pudding, one egg, fried or poached, with a runny yoke, Beans of the decent type, Heinz, Watties, no super market own label stuff, but the beans must not cover the egg.
Bacon - meh, it's hard to get a decent tasting bacon. I can take it or leave it.
Salt, small amount on the egg. white pepper.
Red sauce on the egg only.
Brown everywhere else.
English mustard every now and then when I feel like it.

If they ever did catch me and they were going to hang me in the morning, it would be my last meal of choice...even if the screws did gob on it...It's that good.

off you go then.
Iv just had 3 fried eggs that were laid last night. Amazing taste!!

Toast
Eggs(poached or fried)(even in omlette form at times)
Sausage(any type)
Bacon(again any type)(yeah that's right vegans mmmm)
mushrooms
Heinze beans
fried tomatoes/plum tomatoes(pref plum)
orange juice/grapefruit juice
Salt/pepper/brown sauce(red is for wimps)

Under no circumstances will I eat black pudding, the stuff is minging.

The most overrated pile of grease. Furthest I go is sourdough bread, poached egg, pancetta and parsley. Tobasco as sauce.

Don't like feeling sluggish in the morning.

I'm hungry now. Only have a full breakfast on a Sunday.
But like Groucho, not to fussy but the main ones is toast rather then bread. Tomatos instead of beans plus a fried egg.

Must haves -
Back bacon X 3 (fried until crisp)
2 or 3 Good quality Pork sausages
A couple of slices of black pudding
Fried mushrooms
Baked beans
2 eggs Fried (runny yolk)
3 rounds of hot buttered toast (white)
A pinch of black pepper
A large mug of strong tea with 2 sugars (actually a coffee drinker, but ALWAYS tea with a FEB)

Occasionally -
May substitute the toast with fried bread
Sometimes brown sauce (or) maybe a little English mustard
Tomatoes, take 'em or leave 'em really

Never on a breakfast -
Potato in any form eg chips, hash browns, rosti
Red sauce (love it, but not on me breakfast)

(Now excuse me while I finish me bowl of value cornflakes)

Porridge made with 1 cup water/1 cup milk and mixed in with some strawberries and a square of dark chocolate.

yeah but do you have it with brown or red sauce?

Either or both go for your life. recommend a good commercial one.

I came over for a game or three and used the Thomas Cook ticket hotel package, stayed at the Hotel Indigo, excellent FEB, near enough all you can eat.
The Mooloolaba surf club does an ace one on the sunshine coast.
