I feel there needs to be more empathy in this thread. That each of the two polarised sides trying to understand why and how the other side feels the way they do so strongly would help heal rifts and bring us back together.

This is actually a lovely take and I’m flummoxed into how to reply to it. Bravo!Ok, I'll give it a go. I thought it was interesting that, for once, we put death and grief front and centre. I struggled to grieve when my own mother died and I felt incredibly conflicted by her memorial service and burial. I hope the service was cathartic for those who grieve or who have struggled with loss.
I want to feel connected to the history, the pageantry and the sense that the UK matters. I wish I could identify with the sense of inclusion that some of you feel with such ceremony. I am probably one of the few here that is genuinely positive about Charles as a head of state because he has been ahead of the curve on a number of issues that matter to me.

ok so i listen to 5live its been wall to wall coverage for at least a week. they even started reviewing their own coverage on Friday of the previous week. to be fair they did have 2 people on saying she's a count and perhaps the idiots queuing may find more relatable people struggling on their doorsteps . There were some sports programmes but the rest of the day was all that sheet,Weird, I don’t listen to the Radio much, but when I have, over the last few days, it’s either music or people talking about football. I was in the office this week and the Radio is on in the background, no mention of the Queen at any point, just music. I guess it depends on the stations you listen to.
I think in this situation, there will always be some people who think the coverage is too much. My point is, it is perfectly avoidable, if you want to avoid it.
