....I'm sure some years ago there was a ping pong coach in a single village and a couple of world champions came from the same street. I would think one of their parents or a relative was a fencer.

...I remember a bloke called a Fox doing fencing for GB but I think that was part of the Modern Pentathlon a long time ago.

That women's road race crash was horrific.

kin state of the tarmac/kerb situation on that descent. The road falls away about a foot and a half with a massive gutter and kerb beyond it. The daft gets set up a death trap there. You could see how much Chris Boardman was fuming.

Good luck to that poor Dutch rider.

Good to hear van Vleuten appears to be alright. Really difficult descent and she joins a number of the blokes from yesterdays race in coming a cropper on it. Both races were very exciting, but not sure anyone wants to see these kind of crashes on a descent.

Chris Boadman blasted those responsible for the course safety saying it was clear to everyone that the decent was too dangerous, the road on those bends was far too rough and those responsible for allowing it should be held responsible, and any fair minded person could only agree with him
