@Old Blue 2

You know about this character mate?
No I don't roydo, as I have invested most of my research time on the 'other side', as you know (although I have input to the serries I posted up).

But those guys flying the Mosquito, they were quite something in my opinion. That type flew all kinds of missions: low-level raids; high-level reconnaissance, and of course night-fighting (when us sneaky Brits put them in among the night bomber streams to pick up the radar transmissions of the German night fighters and go after them and knock them down - the one night fighter pilot I interviewed (he flew the He 219) told me he and his crew were totally fearful of being caught by a Mossie night fighter. They knew they would be up there somewhere every time they flew a mission, and it totally frayed their nerves.).

Those crews have my utmost respect, but then so do all who climbed into British aircraft to defend our homeland at that time.

Glad to hear that it’s good.
It’s been on my reading list.
Really enjoyed that writer’s book Say Nothing about the Troubles in Northern Ireland
Say Nothing is high on my reading list so I'm glad to hear you liked it. Definitely a good writer this Keefe fellow.

Say Nothing was one of the more engrossing books I’ve read in a long time. Can’t really think of any other work of nonfiction that reads so much like a novel. Empire of Pain was also very good, and certainly eye opening for me, as someone who lives in one of the parts of the US that has been hardest hit by the opioid epidemic.

Currently on the go.

It's a crime fiction book set in early 90's LA (Post Riots) and centers around the attempted murder of a female latino drug dealer and the 2 guys accused of being involved (One guilty, the other not) following them and the various characters involved through the events, arrest, prison and court case (not up to that bit yet)

On the surface, the story is nothing new or groundbreaking, but they way the book tells the story is the selling point.
Each chapter switches to the perspective of a different person involved in the case. From the victim, the accused guys, the drug addict witness (being coerced by his parole officer to testify), the parole officer himself, police officers, prison guards, the Prosecuting attorney etc.
Sometimes this switch happens directly after 2 characters have interacted, so you get the other persons reaction, their view on the various happenings from their point of view including their prejudices.

The author clearly did his research on the justice system from that time period as well.

Really enjoying this one so far.

Just finished Paperboy, about a young lad with a paper round in ‘70’s Belfast. Was ok. Some funny bits, but not much really happens apart from he goes on loads about the paper round, and he goes to see the Bay City Rollers. 5/10
