Doesn't even shock me any more, just expect it. Never have i seen the standard of officiating as poor and corrupt as it is now. Everything about the PL is embarrassing and shameful. Watched with an American friend who knows nothing about football except you're not allowed to use your arms. Kinda a 4 year olds knowledge of the game and he was blown away that the ref got to go to a TV and allow it. "even I know that's not allowed".

Today was an extension of the 'natural position of the hand/arm in the box not resulting in a penalty'.

With so much emphasis on the shifting sands of another cause celebre, it is another means to twist officials to the tune of the product as a whole.

If var gets suspended for a season, you watch, you just wait, a bad call or a clear offside or and the harlequins and harridans on the comms will be in with the 'I told you so's' quicker than a rat up a drain pipe.

It's the inevitability of this kind of thing, this sort of bent officiating, the enshitification of the game that explains why I didn't know it had happened until 22.53 tonight. This is how much the football authorities and their agenda has made the game irrelevant to my life. I'm disinterested and unsurprised anymore. Im a long way removed from the nan that would follow every top flight game and discuss their teams and players 20 years ago. Today I struggle to recognise my own team's lineup.

What if I'm just a sign of what's to come from fanbases across the country and people start losing interest in the game. Where will their revenue streams come from next? Will they care, as the individuals responsible retire from the game with their corrupt millions in offshore vsnk accounts? The game is being used by these people who have no genuine care or interest in it. Fans are being played as suckers and the armchair milked like cows by a choreographed dramatic script.

I think you are being somewhat charitable there mate: that is a bent decision from a corrupt official in a corrupt League. That ball was 'guided' forward by a player's arm (below the 'T-shirt line')...handball all day long. Oliver is a tendentious malefactor
