Does she fill them with hot water before placing in the freezer? My missus is putting hot water bottles in the freezer mert.
THATS a game changer.
That's what she said... ?They will shrink back when we get 1\2 an inch of snow in the winter......
Was 1976 a hot summer?Be nice getting some 'normal' weather from tomorrow. Sick to death of hearing about this 2 day heatwave on the news channels. Back in 1976 we had 9 weeks of wall-to-wall sunshine & heat. Don't recall ever being constantly told to stay in the shade, drink plenty of water, keep yourself cool, blah, blah, blah. I was 18 years old, & surprisingly enough I was able to work those things out for myself. We were very clever back then.
I was working on a site over in Williston, go in at 5am and finish at 11 am. We would then go and spend a few hours at New Ferry baths.Be nice getting some 'normal' weather from tomorrow. I was working at Butlins in Skegness. Worked similar hours to you -5am to 12pm - brilliant having the afternoon to yourself.I was working on a site over in Williston, go in at 5am and finish at 11 am. We would then go and spend a few hours at New Ferry baths.
Think the highest it got was just under 36.0. Somewhere in the midlands if my memory serves me right. There were plagues of flesh-eating ladybirds too that summer. Some of them as big as cats......He said trying to beef up the story. Not excessively hot, but It was a LONG and DRY summer with plenty sun.
I remember it more for the fact that a lot of ponds, pools and even reservoirs dried up, but that was due to lack of rain rather than excessive temperatures. I loved every minute of it personally. ?
Mostly just sun for me working on a building site, copped off a couple of times at the bath's though.I was working at Butlins in Skegness. Worked similar hours to you -5am to 12pm - brilliant having the afternoon to yourself.
Best four and a half months of my life. Sun, sea, sex & syphilis.
