he's a bona fide legend, and a great fella. He did a documentary about Japanese animation, focusing on the jap version of Godzilla, he was given an animatronic(?) model, used during filming, of Godzilla as a thank you. Thing was about 3 foot high, walked, roared, lazer eyes, the whole shizz.
I fookin loved it, spent hours messing about with it, sending into Everyman theatre board meetings on full volume and all kinds of daft sh1t. He was moving over to the states and needed to 'shed' a load of stuff. I got Godzilla, on loan mind, until he returned. We spent endless hours having fun together, walking him to the shops n that. All was great for 16 mths or so. Then my mates dog got scared sh1tless by it and tore it to bits. I, and he, was devastated. He was fookin furious!!

It cost near 2grand to have it sent to Japan, repaired by those who made it, and returned to him, almost as new. My shame was immeasurable.
