My oldest(she's 3.)has had a nightmare and is refusing to sleep, how do we get her to go to sleep?

We've said we'll take her to Mcdonalds tommorow, she can sleep in with me and the missus tonight.Help.

Don't force the issue. When my boys had nightmares and night terrors, I would just go in and lie down with them, or have them come into our room and just let them talk it out and relax and they will fall back asleep in no time. It was when we forced the issue of going back to sleep immediately, we would have trouble.

Just tell her that if she doesn't go to sleep pronto then the monsters under her bed will get her.

This is the sensible and correct way of doing things.
