Groucho's fact machine has blown a gasket here. Hot water and shaving gel is much better than hot water alone, I've tried hot water alone when I've run out of gel, not a great experience.

I let my beard grow until it gets to Farmer-John levels. Then with the electric razor shave it all of, leaving just the stubble. Repeat this every couple of months. Do the same with my hair: grow to Harry Styles levels, then shave it all off ala Ripley-in-Alien3, tho' that might be every 4 months or so as up top's different, innit.

Been doing it like this for many beards (ha!). Saves me tons of time and money.

Aye, fair enough. But it was Alan thingy who said it so I'm not convinced. If Fry had told us I'd be more inclined to believe it.

I'll give it a try tomorrow though, but if I bleed to death my dependents will come looking for you.

Been shaving daily for close to a year now, but now I've got a fairly decent scar on my chin. Makes it a right pain to shave properly, as I have to shave up to the scar then use the electric around it, then go back to the other. I've always used soap and hot water brushed on, just personal preference

Been over a year since my last wet-shave, electric shaves all the way.

Slogged it out through the fluff and now a proud owner if a reputable beard just in time for us to reach 'peak-beard' and a soft clean shaven face become desirable again.
