If the kids in question aren't your family, then it's difficult without annoying the parents or upsetting tiny kiddies. The answer will always be "they're only 4". I say this as the dad of a 3 yo. You could always say to they parents that they're poking the cats and you don't want them to get hurt by the cats (lie through your teeth if they're peaceful kitties). Make it sound like you're doing them a favour by telling them.

I sympathise, like.
I get that kids will be kids, but the fact that they come all the way down out drive and poke their heads into the back garden and ride their scooters up and down our drive all the time...it's just weird, clearly their parents haven't said much about strangers and such. Surely you should be worried if your four year old has disappeared down someone's drive?! Plus I really dislike their parents - they hate us because we have a few cats and they hate cats.

Bleh.

Of course, their parents shouldn't be letting them do all that unsupervised.

Could be dangerous for many. You're right to be annoyed, it will just require careful handling.

I like that some of you guys know each other in the real world too.

I like it and fear it in equal measure.
