Welcome back Wayne
As I look back over last the events of last night, I have a few observations.
1. The bar we were in was not conducive to picking up a bird you did not previously know. It was loud, crowded, and just a bit over the top. So loud it was difficult to get an in-road established.
2. I do believe that if I were A) Still in the game and B) had been in a different environment, i.e. my kind of bar that has music that doesn't suck at a level that does not stifle conversation, things could have been drastically different. I have never been able to stop traffic with my good looks, I have always relied on wit, charm, and the art of conversation to weasel my way into the ladies good graces. Also as a rule, I do not reveal the nature of my work until the hook is set. Either the flight suit bit kicks their intrigue into overload, or if they do not fancy my line of work, the fact it came up later in the evening as a foot note more or less it is simply a matter of my occupation and not a key factor in the definition of who I am. Win, Win.
3. I am fully convinced that JDawg will not face the harsh welcome that befell my crew mates last night. First they are no JDawg. Not by a country mile. Also, they picked the wrong targets. When you are aircrew in a uni town, which just happened to be hosting an airshow, if you play the aircrew bit too early, you lose. Plus they were trying to pick a hot girl out of a group of well not so hot girls who were dancing together.
So all in all, rookie mistakes and bush league tactics equal no soup for you. All things that you just don't have to worry about if you are JDawg. You are sound. Plus, when you get here, if you need a wingman, Give me a call. I'll fly with you.
It'll be the Japanese uniform and Kamikazi headband thats putting them off.........
