Philip Seymour Hoffman has been dead over ten years. Not over rated btw. Just look at all the film roles he got. Gifted man. That decade has gone very quick.

Liam Neeson another for me, will actively avoid. One film he is ok and essentially plays the same character in every film since.

Not sure what he's like but he certainly is a good actor. It's not his fault that they cast a 4'11" actor with dark hair to play a 6'5" fair haired character, but that's showbiz, folks.

I think most people who make it to big budget films are reasonably good actors - they are able to make you like or sympathise or fear their character. That also comes down to the quality of the writing and directing of course. I can't think of any particularly bad ones, I can only think of good ones - I'm not saying they're the best, but I've never been disappointed by Tom Hanks, Clint Eastwood or Jack Nicholson fillums. On that basis I'd say everybody else is the worst. Does that help?

Michael Caine has pretty much played the same character for decades, but I do like him.

I`d agree, as in most things she`s proper rubbish, but she`s fantastic in Brassic.

The chemistry between her and Joe Gilgun ( who co wrote it ) is really good, which is down to the fact that it`s very well written and cast.

I get the feeling that when Joe Gilgun was writing it, he had her in mind for the character she plays.

I enjoyed him in the TV series Henry VIII.

Played a very cockney Henry walking round screaming at everyone to shut up.

I'm sure at one point he shouts at David Suchets, Wolsey "waaahhhllssey you slaaag"
