The nature of forgiveness

Have really enjoyed my first few hours on this website. Good range of topics and lots of Everton chat. I love Everton so this is perfect for me.

Here's a philosophical question for you: how important would you say it is to forgive? And what would you say is the broad statue of limitations for ongoing punishment for transgressions?

Not being specific or anything but does anyone think August 2021?

Why was Orly banned? Can he be forgiven?

But more seriously, I still haven't forgiven Laura Geniosky for picking my best friend Mike Bennett over me in 5th grade to go roller skating. By choosing Mike over me, this accorded him all sorts of socio-emotional perks, including the broader 5th-grade awareness that he and Laura were "going" together, limited use of the landline to call her up on certain evenings, and the possibility of awkward oral contact underneath the bleachers on Friday nights. Laura, you are not forgiven and I hope you have pubic lice.
