Backboard makes it easier to score. Much more skill needed in netball.

Today is the household female's day off with her 4 day week.
Is she going to resume undercoating?
No ... grandchild to pamper this afternoon.
What about this morning
Got work to do (unpaid overtime of course ... Britain in 2023)
But we are going away for the weekend ... when will you do the painting? Once thats done we can use the cupboards and empty the old ones, dismantle the kitchen and hand it to the couple who want to give us actual money for it before they change their minds.
Oh next weekend maybe.
That will be the weekend my brother visits from Canada for the first time in years. Nit going to happen.

Sigh. And so a project gets delayed and we put up with mess for longer.

Well if you're not doing anything I'll have a day off too.

Two hours later the missus, out of the blue decides ... she'll oil the oak cupboards I've made before lunch.
Not the painting?
No.
But I've not trim routed them or sanded them yet ... they're not ready.

Carpe deim- Cue a mad half hour of routing and sanding.

I know some people that wouldn't even attempt that.
Me too.

I was working on a car on my drive years back. The hen-pecked lad who lived next door, who I always heard being shouted at by his enormous wife, for not doing anything, came out and watched for a minute or two before saying "I wouldn't know where to start"

"Just read a book" I said.

I dont think he understood.

The henpecked ones usually do have massive wives.

Makes you wonder why they put up with all the myther.

I just finished painting the utility room. Turned out well, it now matches the kitchen. Mrs C is starting to make noises about getting a professional in to do the work. She thinks she is doing me a favour by not asking me to decorate. She doesn’t accept that I enjoy doing it provided I am left alone to get on with it.
Mrs C’s best mate has a husband who does nothing around the house, very time they come to our place she gives him
dog’s abuse.

Exactly. google is a wonderful thing.

I bought a bulb from Vauxhall a while back and the salesperson asked "Do you want it fitted?" The fitting fee was £15. Erm, no thanks.

Although some cars (Citroën certainly) have designed their cars such that you need a main dealer to remove bumper grille and wing to change a bulb ... so £15 would be a bargain. And its why I'd never ever consider buying a car from these manufacturers.

Most cars now, also require some kind of diagnostic kit, for even the most basic things too.

Which cost a fortune and you it has to be the one that`s compatible for that make of vehicle.

I found this out, this week, as my VW van has a " starting problem " and the non VW specialist I use, doesn`t have the piece of kit needed, due to not only the cost of purchase, but also the cost of the upgrades / downloads.

You had to remove the top of the screen was tank to get to the bulb but it was easy enough.

I've given up waiting for the household female to do the undercoating so today I did a bit myself (in a fraction of the time I might add).

Also have organised 5 mates (yes, believe it or not I have a few) to come at 7pm tonight to help lift a granite workspace from the old kitchen. Given the bulk density of granite is around 2.7 tonnes per cubic metre I've calculated that the slab is around 150kg. I've also managed to find a buyer if we don’t break it.

For homework you can now calculate the area of the slab, given its thickness of 25mm.
