Its complicated. What separates you using fella?
Looks a nice set up.
Are you into your vinyl? Not, in any way a sexual question ?
Bet the sound is sweet and true. Awesome, wish I was able to do all the builds myself and probably could if could be arsed but im strictly off the shelf stuff. Its complicated.
I have an elite rock turntable that I spent a summer holiday's earnings on as a student in 1986.
The preamp is my own build and houses an active crossover for my transmission like speakers- also my own design/build.
Naim power amp for the woofers
Lumley valve amp for the tweeters (though currently replaced by an onyx amp while the valves get repaired (knackered by a relative's dog ... mentioned elsewhwere).
Just bit hard on the digital route now so there's also an innuos zen mini running through a (recently acquired) chord m scaler and chord dave dac.
Made my own solid silver wire interconnects throughout. Seriously good sound though I say it myself !
Its largely been done on the cheap with 2nd hand units. Because I've made some bits myself I can tube the system so they match up - eg if an amp is too bright, I can tone down the tweeters to accommodate. The digital stuff hadn't been cheap though, despite being second hand! Fell down a real rabbit Warren with that!Bet the sound is sweet and true. Sounds awesome mate.
I'm impressed mate. Its largely been done on the cheap with 2nd hand units. I don't think she's noticed too much (that there's anything new nor what it cost... (although I did stupidly leave a receipt lying around for a few days ... even though its my own hard earned- you know what they're like). Besides, for two months I've had to put up with a piano in front of a speaker ruining tonal presentation and imagery because of the damn kitchen!I'm impressed mate.
bet the missus wished you paid as much attention in the "kitchen" ??
Also, how is a cold fed Washing machine economical when you have a tank of hot water?A sad day. After 23 years of unrelenting and faultless service, today I have decommissioned my fridge freezer. Its a quality Siemens device that i bought to replace my previous one that I'd calculated was costing me around a tenner a month to run (late 90s prices!). Its called Dave and i thought he was a keeper - he'd be with me forever- now I can only remember the Friday night curries it kept cold for me all those years before marriage closed yet another avenue of pleasure to me.
There's nothing wrong with it. Its just not silver and modern and not a chintzy make I've never heard of, that will last as long as its guarantee, that the female has chosen. It has a light that comes on slowly when you open the door. Doors that is. Its barely wider than my trust Siemens- my last reminder of blessed bachelorhood, but opening a door gives you access to just half the fridge ... inevitably the stuff you're looking for will behind the other door
I mean wtf.
Its bad enough we live in a disposable technology era Where you have to wait for your washing machine to boot up but having to wait for a light to slowly come on before you can find where she's hidden the bacon is just too much.
Energy companies run the world... so flogging you a cold feed machine will up your costs fir energy and increase hard water issues in the machine- so there's your motives. Up to you to decide if there's a conspiracy between the big companies. Also, how is a cold fed Washing machine economical when you have a tank of hot water?
In the good old days, it was hot feed tapped as well as cold fed ?

I absolutely would do that if I had the space to spare.Stick it in the garage mate, put a sheet over it, so she doesn`t know you haven`t disposed of it and wait for the day, when the new one will invariably breakdown.
My garage is full of Dyson machines & parts .....I absolutely would do that if I had the space to spare.

You've seen the picture if my shed, in the shed thread surely. I currently have difficulty finding a space to put a screwdriver down.I`m sure with a bit of creativity and moving stuff around, you can find the space ?
It`ll haunt you forever, if you take it to the tip.
Thats some bad loser talk right there, the shed/workshop fridge for excess Christmas booze is a thing of joy. You've seen the picture if my shed, in the shed thread surely. I currently have difficulty finding a space to put a screwdriver down.
