20 locks done today. 20 locks. 20. Starting at 07.30 in the dark from below Hemel up to a place called cowroast where, disappointingly, there is no roast and no pub. Stopped here at 16.20 in the dark. None-stop travel9.

My mate, local to the area, was supposed to help today but he jabbed me off for a date he got. He's helping tomorrow on a long flat but with no locks. Local knowledge. 20 locks.

It rained. In between rain it drizzled and then rained some more. 20 locks ... oh and a swing bridge.

And 30 minutes ago, in the dark, I managed to find a spot to moore amongst a bunch of other boats, only for the boat immediately in front of me to start up their engine for whatever reason and just sit there, filling my cabin with diesel smoke.

I'm really roo tired to be bothered.

20 locks.

I'd have more sympathy but it's fairly obvious anything involving British waterways is going to utterly horrible.
