The new kitchen

Home now for new year. Sat about an hour of the mission objective - the flight of locks that close on the 3rd until March. The plan is to return on the 2nd with willing friends and spend a day getting through that flight - then I SHOULD be able to relax and take my time getting onto the (probably doing its annual newsworthy flooding of Tewksbury by then) Avon. What's the worst that could happen?

Yesterday I went down three close locks with another boater. After the first lock he notices us and he cheerily waits for us to share the last two locks and chats away. As the last lock empties he realises we have far to go so cheerily ushers us out first and then crashes into us as he leaves the lock. A right thump.

I have noticed that the more cheery the boater the more inept they seem to be at handling their craft. I must be bloody good at handling my boat by now.

Just spent 2 hours composing an email to three's CEO Rober Finnegan. Draft 1 would have me perma-banned from The GOT site. Draft 2 was heavily redacted of adjectives and expletives. It is fiendishly difficult to find contact details, as it is with any big company that expects to generate enormous amounts of complaints by treating their customer as a soiled shoe.

Have invoiced Three for my wasted morning, time finding a legitimate means of communication, my temporary sim, time wasted having to write a letter plus for the stress and anxiety experienced etc.

I don't expect to get a bean but I have invited him to give me reasons why I should remain a customer.

I’m tired just reading it…….

I'VE DONE IT!! Currently sat at the top of Hatton flight, having spent 2 weeks of hard graft, I finally beat the closure (til March) with a chilli cheese burger on order the café.

From here on in its a leisurely pleasure cruise.
I'd be disinclined to be showing enjoying any pleasure or you'll be swabbing the decks and keel hauled post haste. Well done beating the deadline, does every success lead to a greater challenge?

Its looking that way isn't it.

Just like in any workplace, those that achieve and do well get loaded with more and those who are inept seem to get a lighter load.
