If they try to stay with a similar theme it'll be the Warriors as they registered trademarks for that years ago. Best suggestion I've seen online is the RedWolves.

I'm by no means a snyder or a washington whatever fan. I can't stand that team.

But that last tweet wow was almost all of that completely wrong, and the only part that's right. Which is unacceptable, is out of context.

Dan Snyder does drugs at the office. Like all of that crap was overblown. You actually believed that crap? Why are you on that account?

I know nothing about that account and don’t really have a vested interest in the NFL. It seemed quite crazy, if true, but if it’s not then just ignore. I didn’t vet the source.
 
I really do not get people criticizing and 'laughing' at the decision the Washington Organization has made here.

Think back to our ill fated 'logo' change. BIG mistake!

The 'Washington Football Team' (lets be honest, its going to be just Washington) is a temporary name that will last one season. No rash, fast decision made here which would have been severely regretted for a lifetime (for many). SO much money, naming rights, branding, merchandising, trade marking etc. could have been botched. THAT would have been the embarrassment.

So ,now they take there time, the Team, players, owners and FANS (most importantly) will be consulted and suggestions taken into consideration and media polls studied and hopefully a final decision, while not pleasing everyone obviously, will be popular.

Applaud the decision I do. It was the absolute right one for them to take.

Outside of the fact that this has been years in the making and any competent leader would have planned ahead, I agree with this. But really, any competent leader with wealth (Snyder ticks one of these boxes) could hire the best branding/marketing/design teams in the US and get a rebrand done pretty quickly, although maybe not before the season starts.

I agree with your statement too. I think what has happened here is the timing. The decision to retire the old name/logo came WAY too close to the season starting. It takes a LONG time to change that stuff....but this again supports the decision made by the Redskins.
 
Using the football team as the temporary name feels like folks have been listening to podcast and finally cottoned on to the long standing joke

suspect they’ll have a normal name soon enough

but, for now, ‘Washington Football Team’ is causing problems for the NFL

Which team is we? Because I can see both fan bases being happy enough with this. It gives the Seahawks a better shot at making it to another Super Bowl (I don't think they're close enough to justify this level of giving up picks, but they do) and the Jets get a ton of assets to work with going forward.
