The Now-Irrelevant 2024/25 Relegation Battle (Without Everton!)

Dave,

I think it is reasonably certain we will be in a relegation threatened position for most of the season and I think he is running out of road and excuses to rationalise that to the board/fans/media…what’s he been doing for the last 2 years is a legitimate question.

Sometimes, the old tried and trusted methods no longer work and people realise too late in order to change it.

I think we have reached that juncture.
We may have...but that will be more a result of constantly having to have thin out the quality of this squad.

As I said above: we have new owners and I expect them to get buying a couple of players to help Dyche out right now.

...or the players who cant hit a cow on the arse with a banjo are to blame?
What chances?

This myth that we create needs putting to bed.

Expected goals = bottom

Big chances = bottom

Touches in oppo area = bottom

But we do lead the league in long balls

Because the run of wins started before we played them but also included the win against Liverpool.

Not sure where I've gone wrong here? 🤷‍♂️

Going to need a similar run in this season if not careful.

Said it last week but beating all of Leicester, Ipswich and Southampton is critical now. However that only gets to 26 points so still ten points short of being fairly secure in the league.

Either going to have to win a couple of the tougher home games (which in fairness happens every season so very possible) or get some actual wins on the road. Big ask to stay up not winning another away game imo even if there's 4/5 draws from those games.

The margins are very slim though if not winning any of the next three as Leicester could easily be a bore draw with how they set up. Given Dyche makes the margins analogy after every single game seemingly he'll be well aware it's high time he digs out a "shock" win otherwise he won't be manager much longer.

He wrote the game off as a guaranteed defeat. Waved the white flag before a ball had even been kicked. Shocking cowardice from such a stoic Evertonian.

If you can get a 0-0 at Arsenal you can certainly get something off Man. City with the state they're in so found that a bit odd. Chelsea fair enough as they were in great form when they rocked up at Goodison.

We need both new players and better coaching. Dyche does not set up to win football matches

We can also hire someone who could completely fails to handle a relegation run in...then we'd be facing a catastrophe.

Stick with Dyche and we'll be ok. We can be reasonably certain of that. Then we can indulge you and your fellow blow hards who want Julio Doubleglazius or some other latin hot shot as manager.

Wasn’t this you when you wanted us to replace Koeman with Aitor Karanka?

Dave also wanted us to lose to Arsenal because he believed we weren’t in a relegation battle and we needed to help out Liverpool’s title rivals.

Also was adamant that we would beat forest. In fact he was throthing at the mouth on how sure he was about it cause ignore their lofty league position they r very average ..
The guy is a complete imbecile.
