The Oldies Thread

I dropped geography in my final 5th year & opted for a new subject on offer - Environmental Studies - a far more interesting subject back then in the early 1970s - which the teacher forecast that working life people would retire aged 60 years old as the growth of leisure pursuits wold be thriving lush a possible chance of an ice age in the future the way the climate was changing ....
Overall though a very interesting new subject !
I enjoyed geography, got a G1 CSE (1968). Sadly only got a G2 English, my favourite subject, after what looked like a nailed-on G1 after my coursework throughout. I must have really screwed the written exam. I understand now that I've been diagnosed with a lifetime of ADHD but, at the time, I was devastated because I wanted to become a journalist.

My Geography teacher wrote on my school report:
'Hard to know how hw finds his way home each day" I still have it BTW.
When i was about 14 we didnt have a maths teacher for a whole term, it was taken by the P.e teacher.
Friday afternoon was double Games (thats what we called it) double Maths.
We played football all afternoon on the yard,
I'm still crap at maths

Had a music teacher at school who had taught my Dad when he went to the same school 25 years earlier!
After “achieving” 4% in a music exam, he yelled at me from about 6 inches in front of my face “The last person who came through this school who was as bad at music as you was your father”!
Needless to say I never took another music exam in my life!
