"not often you see a liverpool player get a standing ovation from anfield" brilliant, and to think i use to enjoy him on robot wars.
i'm not even sure the fans were booing bellamy to start with, it seemed as if it was a chant thing because they were doing it in 10 second interval, hence why they booed the sengal left back and then someone like caulker

why are all the british fans smiling and laughing behind the goalscorer. never seen an african do a ****ty dance after scoring before?

ha, anyone else knew sordell was gunna miss that before it came to him?

in other news, i think the senegal manager is the coolest looking manager i've ever seen... WHERE'S THE COOL DREAD-LOCKED MANAGER BILL?

I'm gonna watch the Opening Ceremony.

But I'm getting nauseous at all this "it's a wonderful atmosphere" that BBC News is drumming up and all this fake excitement.

When Beijing had the Games in 2008, the BBC questioned everything about it, including China's human rights etc? I hope other countries had Panorama style documentary's about the London riots and how London might be a dangerous place to visit, a bit like Poland & Ukraine was supposed to be. Funny how the BBC have glossed over this.

China has one of the worst human rights records in the world, according to the UN, amnesty international etc. It wasn't really Panorama going out on a limb with vague allegations. If anything it was swept under the carpet during the games. And from what I've heard, the opening ceremony at London embraces parts of the darker history of London, something which China would never do.

I love the olympics me. If footballers showed half the grace and dedication of some of the athletes in the Olympics it would be a much better sport.

Many Olympians have to work a lot, lot harder and got a lot, lot less in return.

That breeds a more humble and respectable kind of person than a sport that makes many unproven kids just out of school millionaires within a year.
