The only reason I can't bring myself to call for Benitez to be sacked

If I was Moshiri I’d let Blue Bill appoint the new manager.

Although he has his critics, Blue Bill appointed Moyes and Martinez who have been better appointments than Moshiri’s.
Only on the recommendation of Walter - just before he closed the door on his way out.

tbh, I've no excuses for the Martinez appointment though.

Kenwright’s criteria at the time for both appointments were ‘who is available and cheap in the NW of England?’

The shortlist for replacing Moyes included Neville Weir Stubbs and Vitor Pereira (who knows why he was on there) along with Martinez. When Moyes was hired Gary Megson was seriously considered.

If BL was picking the next manager I bet it would be a frantic call to Moyes to see if he would come back, then a recommendation from Moyes about which of his ex players to give it to. If none of them wanted it we’d probably go for Jack Ross just fired from Hibs.

We have made our bed. We need to see out the season with Benitez and the reassess.

*procession enters to the sound of wailing, gnashing of teeth, Gregorian chanting and the thwacks of self-flagellation*

We promise the condemned Senor Benitez is on a bed of nails as we speak

Yours,

The Inquisition

*procession leaves to the sound of "click, click, click, clique" as the torture devices are tightened*

It takes a brave person to hold their hands up and admit "I got that wrong", "I made a mistake".

Time will tell. Results will dictate what happens. We've had many a season with poor results and low half table finishes not always led to a manager being sacked.

The problem is it's not acceptable and we're getting fed up of this game in game out, season in season out, old manager new manager.

It's to easy to blame Benitez because of his past but the real problem is the players are not fit to wear the jersey...too happy to pick up the money , do jack [Poor language removed] and let some of our moronic fans blame the manager because of their hatred of Liverpool....it's an easy ride for them ....these are dark times and if things don't pick up we are looking at a dogfight in the new year with pussycat players
