The shortlist for replacing Moyes included Neville Weir Stubbs and Vitor Pereira (who knows why he was on there) along with Martinez. When Moyes was hired Gary Megson was seriously considered.

If BL was picking the next manager I bet it would be a frantic call to Moyes to see if he would come back, then a recommendation from Moyes about which of his ex players to give it to. If none of them wanted it we’d probably go for Jack Ross just fired from Hibs.

If I was Moshiri I’d let Blue Bill appoint the new manager.

Although he has his critics, Blue Bill appointed Moyes and Martinez who have been better appointments than Moshiri’s.

I don’t think many fans want Ferguson and Rooney tho, that would be Bills choice.

We won’t under Benitez but if we were to panic and appoint Dunc or Rooney as interim relegation would not be off the table

Aside from the Board, the other common denominator is the players. If they couldn’t turn up for Carlo, I don’t think they will turn up for anyone!

The obvious counter to that, of course, is do we want RB rebuilding the squad…

He never bought these players......any manager in the world couldn't get this shower to perform...you just close your eyes and bury your head in a cess pool of hatred....it's fans like you that have turned this club into a laughing stock... Benitez has only been here for 5 months...with no funding....and you blame him for the decades of misery we have endured.....bring back Fat Sam that should make you feel better
