I've got a good mate who worked in the art depArtment on the show. He reckons it cost $290 million to make, and they are selling it for $60 million per country.

I enjoyed last nights episode...mainly as it had boobies in it...and i now have sky HD and HD boobies are better

Anyone been watching this? I couldnt wait till it was out over here so been downloading it.

Awesome really. Thought Band of Brothers was going to be hard to beat, but this is just brilliant stuff!

My degree was primarily WW's 1/2 oriented . Their formations and genesis , through the conflicts themselves , to the aftermaths . Politically , Socially , Economically , Defensively , and via National Literature of the period and afterwards .
AND , I'm absolutely FASCINATED about the 1930's/40's , but I don't really FEEL the Pacific Theatre in the same way as the Eurasian - Russian , ones .
This show , however , looks excellent .As you say , if ultimately , it compares to Band of Brothers , it will be a treat .

The Pacific was really good, I thought but Band of Brothers was unmissable TV. Truly stunning stuff, and I was amazed to discover at the end that all those Belgian/Dutch scenes were filmed in the British home counties.

Shame it had a kopite in the starring role, like.

Did u work on it mate?

not this one, they shot down in Melbourne and I've worked with a few people who were on it. Apparently it was possibly the largest TV Production ever shot. Hundreds of cast crew in the dirt for months, and cost about $10m an episode. Logistical nightmare.

Farscape got so many crew i know and respect starts in their careers, it fostered such a creative environment.

Yeah, you can tell a lot of people cut their teeth on that show...it got progressively better and better in just about every aspect as the series went on. They should be damned proud of themselves. I'm not big on sci-fi, in general, but that series put the big hook in me...great stuff.
