At the time, there was no indication of death, indeed, there is still no confirmation.

Pretty sure his lifeless body at the end is an indication. Did you see how he flopped when they tried to pick him up. If it were a poison bite i would get paralysis but his throat was crushed.

Thing is in the past shady circuses simply move on when something happens and they dont report things i would think especially in Russia.

There was a case like that here in the US number of years ago a trainer died and the circus didn't report it.

its unlikely he died from it, round the neck like that would be a blood choke so his brain was being starved of oxygen

high chance of brain damage but would probably need to be a couple of minutes longer to have killed him

he was fully out though
