I was listening to a flat earther at work recently, and in my professional role in mental health I generally don't jump on people's conspiracies but for some reason I decided to challenge this one. Told them that I'd stood on top of a 3,700m mountain and literally seen the curvature of the earth, but to my dismay this prompted one question only..."yeah but apart from that, when ELSE have you seen its not flat"

To be fair to flat earthers, even if the earth was flat, you'd still see a curve at the edge. I genuinely detest the flat earth lunatics. They have an answer, that totally makes a mockery of scientific evidence, to absolutely everything. Was working with a lad the other day who is a conspiracy theorist extraordinaire got talking about flat earth theory, he said to me, he’s seen experiments on the internet (ffs) were the person has a level surface with a light behind it he moves the light away from the level surface and back towards it and you get the effect of sun rise and sun set. When I asked him if this means the sun moves back and forwards towards the earth in a straight line he just shrugged and said it’s possible. I gave up. There’s plenty more.
