WTF is going on here???

Jazz transcription. Academic jazzers get to go to school and listen to Charlie Parker and John Coltrane (and etc, etc, etc) recordings and then write all that stuff out (with the changes), turn it in as an assignment, and pay thousands of $ for the privilege. The young man in the video is going to Manhattan School of Music, and is playing someone's transcription of "Toby Jones's" comedy masterpiece.
