About as insightful as talking about how good our young players are and how much potential they have when its more than likely that most of them will even get a run in the first team.

Then sold to some lower league side and proclaimed to be gash.

Whilst people raise the point about how we're cash strapped and have a small squad.

Wow- you've well and truly been davek'd.

There are a few names that are being put around- I think this era more than before has a chance of one or two making it. The reason being there is quite a few names rather than just the odd- Francis Jeffers, michael Ball, Danny Cadamateri etc.

Duffy, Barkley, Junior, Vellios, Green, Bidwell etc etc.

Thats EFCNIK not EFCNIKE fellow.

EFCNIKE is always one - nil up! SWOOSH!

Ross Barkley, Luke Garbutt, John Lundstram, Apostolos Vellios and Shane Duffy - Seen a lot of Barkley, Lundstram and Garbutt in the u19 Euros and they have been really good. Barkley and Lundstram have shined for England and they look the most likely to get into our first team in the future (obviously Barkley will be in and out again this season). Garbutt is good and has a good delivery when crossing and not bad at taking set peices, will be interesting to see how he and Bidwell will compete for a place in the future but Garbutt seems good enough to play LM which he has done a few time for England, so we could see Bidwell LB and Garbutt LM playing down the left hand side. Vellios has shown he is going to be a good prospect and look decent yesterday against Morecmabe. Duffy looks quite solid and hopefully he will continue to develop for when Jags, Johnny and Distin start declining, we will just have to wait to see if he waits around for that long.

Hallam Hope - Haven't seen much of him but when he came on for England he didn't impress me didn't make much impact and I personally don't think he will get into the first team, I don't think he is better than Vellios. Francisco Junior - Again haven't seen much of him but yesterday he was impressive for us and if he continues to perform like that he will be a good addition to the first team. Mateusz Taudul - Seems good play well yesterday, hope he develops well. George Green - A lot of hype and I can't say much on him since I have seen barely nothing on him, so hope he delivers to all the hype around him.

Thanks for the update Chris, much appreciated!

bit of a stalemate at the min with shanes new contract..shanes agent and everton dont get on...long story,he has the same agent as baines....base they are called...london firm.....but anyway i hope they can sort it out i will be gutted if he has to leave....:(:(

Interesting stuff, I hope they can sort it out, Duffy looks a quality player.

Duffy has to make the break into the first team this season to continue his development. He's got the talent. If I were in his shoes I'd be looking at the competition for places ahead of me and wondering realistically when I'd get the chance. For a team that sells to operate, centre of defence is pretty strong and could maybe take the hit of a sale. I wouldn't rule out Heitinga moving on before the window closes. If that happens then maybe SD will get more of a regular look in...although knowing Moyes he'd go with Hibbert!

Heitingas shocking Euros mean he wont be going anywhere to be honest.

Seen Duffy out in town Saturday with McAleny. Was too drunk to muster conversation which they've heard before so I just had a good long look at them. Duffy is huge.

I really like the look of him, been very impressed with him, seems to have a very good attitude.

Would love him to make it at Everton, just wonder weather he will get a chance with the 3 we have, maybe he will have to move to get that chance in the first team. Hope not !

Go with Hibbert and be proven right in doing so if I remember correctly.

Agree with most of that. The lad is big and brave in the oppos box and is always close to hitting the onion bag with some gut busting runs on headed corners.

Brian can't Shane just get a different agent? If Shane wants to stay and he'd finding his agent is making it difficult for him and Everton then can't he just sack him?

i wish it was a simple as that, every players that has a agent is contracted for 2 years to them, this is shanes 2nd term with this base out fit, shanes last contract i had to go over and do it for him as i said moyes does not like them...i cant rem the name of the play now but moyes had a r/b as good as signed from spurs 2 years ago but a better offer came in for him from sheff utd and moyes was fuming he swore he would never do business with base again, shane has 13 months left with base, the quicker it runs out the better i think....agents get 5% of what ever contract a player gets(not of the player but of the club)and since i done shane first contract base never got a penny so there are trying to draw as much from shanes contract as they can.....nightmare...:@

Cheers mate. A nice bit of insight in to the world of the leaches that are football agents.

I hope everything gets sorted regarding his contract.
