The Premier League is Boring!

I watched and enjoyed yesterday's Sheffield derby game, what it lacked in quality it made up for it with pure passion, way more entertaining that any premiership game that i can recall , though obviously not including Everton in that statement.

I dont care if its boring i still love it, im sure its boring for neutrals but im not neutral!

Im just, and still am over the predicable banilty of the league.

I go so far as to say there has never been a period of boring predicability where on 2 or 3 teams can actually have any chance of winning it in the top flights history as there is now?

Money's the factor, and I would welcome a Euro super league where say the top 4 clubs [Poor language removed] and play in a different league. It would give the rest of us at least a fighting chance.

Do you think this too radical?

I'd agree with some sort of euro super league. They would just need to expand the Champions League. They could still 'relegate' the worst performing team from each nation and replace with the current champion from each nation. They could keep the UEFA Cup as it is but without Champoins League drop outs joining later.

If there is one thing that American sports does extremely well is that in every team sport every team has a chance to win a title.

I actually think that one reason why footie won't catch on in the States is that in the league there are only the same 2-3 teams in each league who are capable of winning it.

I think a lot of it is down to the fact that it's a high intensity game over the course of 90 minutes with just a 15 minute break in the middle. If you look at the sports that are popular in America (american football, baseball, ice hockey & basketball), all of them have regular stops in between play that football doesn't have & I think that's the main reason why it's never became 1 of the biggest sports there

I think it would be [Poor language removed] crap. Yeah, the rest of the teams would have a better chance to win the league but it would devalue the competition so much it would barely be worth competing for. If this European Super League thing does happen (which my dad mentioned as a possibility to me when I was a kid) I think it's vital we're involved in it

I reckon it wouldn't. I reckon the league would in fact get stronger, more even, and fans would get value for money.

You probably get people supporting a team in both leagues until your team is good enough to get into the Euro League.

You gotta ask yourself if teams like The Manures, the Chelskis continue to dominate domestically is there a future in it? Man City are a test case. If they can win the league like Chelsea did within a couple of years with mega bucks and say we get taken over and we become the new superpowers, then great. The systems still the same and we have some new dominators. The league still isn't even.

Even up the competition I say.

Ok, let's just say this European League was formed & the sky 4 go in it. While different teams would be competing for the title of national champions, what's to say that after a few years a bunch of the teams remaining wouldn't build up a similar standing at the top to what the sky 4 have now? There's every chance that would happen & then the league would be back to the way it is now only without it's strongest teams & everything that comes with them.

All of the best players in the world would demand to play in the European League & the vast majority of commerical money would be pumped into it & so the teams that weren't in it would have no chance of ever competing with them. All the other teams would just have to accept that they'll never be able to challenge at the top level, no matter what they do. Even with the sky 4, there's still a chance that others can break into the top 4, consolodate & then build on it. It's a small chance but it's a chance nonetheless & that chance would be completely gone if the above happened.

A European Super League thing would dramatically change football forever & while different teams would compete for the title in some countries, the novelty would soon wear off & I truely believe it'd kill the game we all love for everyone but fans of teams in it

Would we be having this thread if we where in the Man u position?I doubt it.yes its getting monotonous but its up to the rest of us to catch up no matter how long it takes and who knows with this credit crunch one or more could end up bust (please god Liverpool you know they deserve it)and the floodgates open my main concern is not the winning but the number of quality players we dont see on the pitch because of the size of the squads they have I know its their choice and they have taken the cash option but we as fans are short changed by the lack of quality in other less affluent teams take Parker who turned our offer down .cant blame him if the truth was told ,if we change jobs its for the highest wage we can get.or Bridges another happy to collect the cash.(y)

I want to see a return to the competitive competition, not one that revolves around money. If your looking for a way to kill the league, Id say its already a dead man walking. Its not even, it revolves around money and with all the debt some clubs have its highly unstable.

You will have to put a salary cap in place in European football, because I can see the leagues will struggle in the event of anything bigger than the financial problems we have had lately. Maybe thats the answer though. That would certainly even out the playing field.
