I'm sure most of you have been to a Prom at either school or college, so what was yours like? Do you have any of those funny moments that you will always remember of a teacher getting legless and falling flat on their faces?

no prom for me, and school 'discos' got jacked before i made it to secondary school because someone got loaded and smacked a teacher that is possibly the one person on earth that really deserved a good slap.

My Prom was crap.

You couldnt take alcohol in, was [Poor language removed].

Ours was actually quite good, our school isn't from Merseyside but the school is quite posh and always had a traditional school ball but it is normally late January and combines with a 'Valentines' theme and then at the end of the year they would meet at a fancy venue for a meal to say goodbyes etc.

We had one teacher who had been at the school for years that your parents were even taught by her, well she was the French teacher but for a couple of weeks a year she'd gather all the year groups and teach us all proper ball dancing, forget the moonwalk, the Linx advert dance etc you had to do this dancing to that music.

Every school Year had a dance but your Year11 one was always the built up one, I can safley say i never went any of those dances and was dreading the big one to come up because i felt i needed to go.

Well since our Year group they fell in love with and this teacher left, they decided to book the Palm House in Sefton Park which has a proffessional Prom company, it had champagne, chocolate fountains, buffet, proper music and a dance floor.

We had Pez Tellett from Radio City as our DJ and had a top night, I'm glad the school went for the change and you could see all the teachers also enjoying themselves, so hope they get rid of that awful traditional dance.

Got a video from last night, cue high pitched screaming/singing.

No such thing in the schools around here, the nearest that i can come up with is that when i went to college for two years back in 1979, the head of construction took us all to the local pub on the last day, trouble was we had to return to finish off the 'practise' wall that we were building straight after, i swear to god i didn't know laying bricks could have you pissing yourself laughing, it went up in double quick time but not as straight as we would have liked, happy days.

Ps. I did pass my City and Guilds with distinction. b) (y)

Didn't have proms. At the Sainsbury's regional pissup (job at and after school) one region bottled the other.

Fifth-form (does that still exist?) discos were the closest we came to American-style proms.

Why wont they allow alcohol at proms? Most ppl are 18 arent they...

...stupid idea proms, its the prom after party that im interested in! :P

To be honest, I was expecting a little more from your post chico. I am sure you will redeem yourself on your next contribution to this thread ;)

Didnt go to a school with a Prom night mate.

I was straight down the pit as 12 years old, man and boy.

I did mention breast feeling and fingering in my first post though, I thought I had covered my crude quota, non?
