What do you think about the future of PSG?

If I was in charge there, I'd try to develop the ultimate French team, as the article suggests, signing and developing talent from France and making it into a mini French national team.
I think that with Mbappe as captain, and possibly a young-ish French coach, it would be great to see fewer ageing stars and more 'coachable' players.
I imagine that coaching that team is a thankless task, as you're pretty much relying on Neymar, Mbappe and Messi clicking and everything else falling into place. It would be nice to see them have a tactical approach that is different and not one reliant on the stars.
I'm quite a fan of PSG for no particular reason, and I know they are the ultimate in 'this is what's wrong with the game money laundering sports washing football is not like it used to be' projects but there's something about the style and swagger that makes me feel like it would be fun if they were competing with Real, Man City, Bayern and the others regularly.
Pochettino would have been perfect if he didn't have the ageing stars, but this 'develop French talent' project.
France would love its too, if halve the PSG team were in the French national team.
And on this note, I wonder if any English Premier club will ever be like this - a national - local - talent club.

Why would any English club even want to do that to do that?! English players are valued far more then they're actually worth. Any club with the kind of money that would be required to buy such a team would know that they'd be far better off buying a team of winners. You know, instead of trying to assemble a team of internationals that have never actually won a button on the international stage!

They could have done this already but they're idiots. The amount of amazing players they've just let go or sold on the cheap is nuts.

Maignan
Nkunku
Diaby
Coman
Guendouzi
Tanguy
Dembele

Just a handful.

Much like Renault F1, all thier Pro Cycling teams, tennis players such as Monfils and Gasquet and many other examples

PSG are simply following the grand french traditions of atheletes / teams who nearly always underpreform in some entertaining way

They've been a flop, but lets not pretend they're really any different to Juventus, Real/Barca, Bayern, Man City et al in lavishing hugely more money on players than everyone else in their domestic league.

The men's national team has reached the final in 3 of their last 4 major tournaments and the final of 4 of their last 7 world cups. You could make a good case for them being the strongest international team of the last 20 years.

Looking forward to this thread being trotted out again this time next year when they next flop.

For me they either need to share some money amongst that league so the quality in general improves and provides better competition, or they need to be the main proponents of the ESL
