Lessons from last several years in Premier League for successful clubs.
1) Have a long term strategy and philosophy for how you want to manage and play as a football club
2) Appoint the best CEO you can find who also buys into no 1.
3) Get CEO to recruit he best DOF you can find who buys into point 1
4) Let DOF change all football aspects of the club in line with no 1
5) Get DOF to appoint the best coach you can recruit who buys into no 1.

There are other aspects to it but that's it in a nutshell. As a club we don't appear to have learnt these lessons.

I’d definitely give it to Moyes for 18 months, I think that would be best for the club.

I could be wrong mind. I admire the conviction of opinions of certain people on here who are consistently wrong about most things.

Moyes is a good manager.

Can be a big negative with his subs and gameplan sometimes but he is pro active and sometimes gets results when most of us doubted his decisions. He is also great at motivating players and getting them to fight for each other, which may well be the most important factor in us staying up.

He's also strong in the transfer market, which we will need in the summer.

The Man Utd stuff I let go. He said some things that were ill advised at the time but words are wind and he was under pressure to do what was right for them.

About the glass ceiling stuff ...... no manager would have got us winning trophies regularly with the limited budget he had under Kenwright, Carlo included, who half of you bang on about like he's some kind of god, despite us finishing in the bottom half of the table, whilst kicking off over anyone mentioning that Moyes has been our most succesful manager in modern times.

Should he have banged on about the knife to a gunfight stuff like he did, probably not, but he was right in that the odds were against us, he just shouldn't have expressed that sentiment publicly.

I will back him if he comes in and will continue to while it looks like he is doing a good job and improving the team. I'm sure there will be some teething troubles at first. Our squad has issues but I'm convinced he can take this team forward and give us a team that we can be proud of again.

I don't think any professional clubs would be using analytics and videos alone but more using them as an extra tool to add extra rigour to the recruitment process. They'll still be watching players in person to supplement what they're getting in terms of data

Judging by 90% of our signings I doubt that very much.

I'm pretty sure our scouting department and Thelwell use a Panini sticker album to source players.

I have been reading a lot of the posts on this thread and it really is impossible to please Evertonians.

They don't want Moyes but I don't think they know who they do want.
We are half way through the last season at Goodison, one point above relegation and the stakes are too high to take a punt on someone who may or may not be a success.

The manager we probably would most like are not available mid season and it isn't as if we are that attractive.

Although I think the new ground does up the ante.

I thought Moyes behaved very badly when he left us for Utd and certainly tarnished his image for ever with most Evertonians..he certainly did with me.
But, this is about Everton and not about Moyes.
If there are managers better suited to dealing with our current situation then let's get them... but who are they?

The inclusion of Carsley would sweeten the deal for me and we may even see Coleman transition from playing to coaching.

Im baffled if its Moyes. You would think a new start, new philosophy, they would bring in their own man. Apparently they outsourced the decision to a sports agency. Deary me. And they came up with …’.Morbid Moyes’. If the Friekins had any knowledge of the fanbase they are digging themselves into a hole. Hugely disappointing.

Im guessing dyche being so abysmal has had a factor of needing a short term replacement in january.
If dyche had the team at least as competitive as last year i think it would have all been different to the summer.
Hands been forced somewhat by abysmal dyche.

Yours are.

Odds don’t mean a lot, Mourinho was fav yesterday, only the media are reporting Moyes without any real knowledge just guessing
I don’t think they do at 8/14 or whatever mourinho was but 1/5 feels like people are acting on , what they perceive at least as, inside information.
